87 - Waverley, N.S. Passed away Monday, January 12, 2009, at the VG, QE II Health Sciences Centre. Born in Augustine Cove, P.E.I. He was a son of the late Russell and Mary (Fall) MacDonald. He was a veteran of the Second World War. John was employed with the CNR retiring after 43 years service. A life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #90, Waverley, N.S. Surviving are his sons, Alan (Candice Campbell), Kingston, N.B.; Scott (Carol), Upper Golden Grove, N.B.; Robert (Mary), Kelowna, B.C.; and Stephen (Sandy), Berwick, N.S.; sisters, Miriam Jones, Toronto, ON; Eleanor Harris, Summerside, P.E.I.; brother-in-law, Garth Clarke, Summerside, P.E.I.; sister-in-law, Ellen Lyon, Peterborough, ON; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorna, the love of his life; brothers, Joseph, Hensley, Gordon; sisters, Dorothy Muttart, Ruth Warren, Lois Clarke, Amelia Larkin; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte MacDonald. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, January 15, with a funeral service and Legion service 1 p.m. Friday, January 16, all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, N.S.
