The death occurred at his late residence on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, of David Grant MacCollum of Amherst, N.S., formerly of Alberton, aged 72 years, husband of the late Sandra (Ashley) MacCollum. David was born in Saint John, N.B. April 23, 1942, son of the late Clarence and Eunice (Peatman) MacCollum. Loving father to Grant (Sandy), Union, and Carolyn Sue (Phillip) Allen, Amherst, N.S. Dear grandfather to Scott, Tanya, Tanner and Selena. David is also survived by brothers Gordon (Flo), Bob (Fran), Victor (Mary), Jack (Grace) and by sisters Joy (Earl) Robertson, Doris (Woody) Wellwood, Lois Maxwell and Nancy (Rick) Arnold; sisters and brothers-in-law Charles (Marilyn) Ashley, Alberton, and Susan (Rev. Randy) McCausland, Oakridge, TN. Predeceased by his parents, wife, sister Marjorie and his mother and father-in-law Harold and Jessie Ashley. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Monday, Jan. 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Cascumpec United Church Cemetery. In memory of David, memorials to the Cascumpec United Church Cemetery Fund, Alberton United Pentecostal Church Building Fund or the Revival Centre (Amherst Church) Building Fund would be appreciated.
