It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Derek MacDonald on January 12, 2015 in Kelowna, B.C. Derek was born and raised in Prince Albert and graduated from St. Mary's high school. He began his career with the Sask. Penitentiary where he was a guard for many years. He and his wife Monica later moved to Red Deer. Derek loved animals and enjoyed watching sports on TV. Derek is survived by his loving mother Margaret MacDonald, brother Darren (Roseann) and their children Rachelle and Kelly; sister Shannon (Stan) Neuman and children Logan and Carter, wife Monica, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Dearle MacDonald. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
