ELLIS, NORMAN EDWIN
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Norman Edwin Ellis on Sunday, January, 25, 2015.
Born on August 10, 1934, he was the loving husband of Ruth Irene (nee Hamilton) for 57 years and the son of the late Frank and Annie (nee Meehan) Ellis.
He will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his wife Ruth, his children: Doug (Ronda), Janet (Wayne) and Pamela (Todd); his grandchildren: Aaron and Devin Ellis, Jason, Justin, Emylee and Micheyla Gorham and Jerome Stotsky; his brother: Frank (Linda); sisters: Frances Marr, Eileen Gillis (Phil) and Ethel Bartlett (Murray) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Norman was predeceased by his son Steven.
Norman cherished his wife, kids and grandkids and thrived in the great outdoors. In his early years he was a hunting guide and loved to hunt and fish himself and made the annual trek to the Miramichi for the beloved hunt. He began working for NBTel in 1957 and remained there until his retirement in 1995. Norman was always working on one project or another, his most accomplished was rebuilding an old Fleet Canuck single engine airplane, which he also flew for numerous years and was a member of the Saint John Flying Club.
At Norman's request, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.
In Norman's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
