E. Joyce Mitton

MITTON, E. JOYCE
1931 - 2015
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of E. Joyce Mitton announce that, while surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Moncton, NB.
She fought through several years of illness and is now absent from the body and present with the Lord. Born in Midgic, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Daisy Belle (Estabrooks) Phinney. She was a faithful member of Main Street Baptist Church and throughout her life was active in several ministries there. She fondly remembered her involvement with a young peoples group at the church in her early adult years as it is where she met several friends and maintained lifelong friendships with them. Joyce cherished the time spent with her family. She loved to watch her husband and sons play ball and hockey, a passion which continued on with her grandchildren. She enjoyed time spent at the cottage and was always worried about having enough food for everyone. She was a wonderful wife and mother; loving and kind hearted and always put other's needs ahead of her own in everything she did.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Lloyd; three sons, Brian (Shelley), Michael (Cindy), Mark (Mary) and three daughters, Heather, Kimberly, Beverly (Lou) Leger, all of Sackville; six grandsons; Shawn Mitton, Nicholas and Nolan Leger, Marcus and Mitchell Mitton and Ryan Mitton, all of Sackville; one granddaughter, Cassina Dunston, of Ottawa; two great grandsons, Dylan and Sammy Mitton, of Sackville. She is also survived by brothers, Raymond (Helen) Phinney, and Keith Phinney, of Sackville and sisters-in-law, Arlene Phinney of Oshawa, Rita Phinney of Sackville, Pearl Crossman, of Riverview, Emma Bulmer, of Dorchester, and Alice Siddall, of Sackville.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ivan and Marven Phinney and numerous brothers and sisters-in law.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300), from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service under the direction of Pastor Andrew Swanson, will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 2 pm from Main Street Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville Extra-mural, or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Joyce's obituary online at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the funeral home Facebook Page.
The family wishes to express it's heartfelt gratitude to health care professionals, Dr. Steven Kenny, Dr. Graeme Stewart, Dr. M. D'Astous, and to Edith Cote-Leger of the Dr. Georges L Dumont Hospital Heart Clinic. In addition, we wish to thank the nursing staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital for their compassion and care of mom during her many visits there.
