It is with sadness, that we, announce the passing of Mary Katherine Kerr, age 93, of Glace Bay. Mary passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at the Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
Born in Broughton, Mary was the daughter of the late Malcolm John and Margaret (MacDonald) MacDonald. Mary was a member of Newsom United Church, Glace Bay. She also belonged to the U.C.W. In her early years Mary worked at the Metropolitan Store, Glace Bay as a clerk.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Jacklyn, Glace Bay; sisters, Christine (Arthur) Lynk, Glace Bay, Florence (William) Barrett, Glace Bay, Joyce (Bernard) James, Halifax, Bernice (James) Gale, Glace Bay and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Ronald MacDonald; and a sister, Willena (Pyke).
There will be no visitation for Mary. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held at a later date.
