Harvey Black

With deep sadness, the family announces the passing of James Harvey Black of Nash Creek, N.B., which occurred on January 31, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 87.
Born in Nash Creek on January 3, 1928, he was the son of Edgar and Marguerite (Hamilton) Black. Harvey lived all his life in the area where he was a successful potato farmer, a kind neighbor, and a respected citizen. He was employed at MacMillians’ Store and NB Power Commission prior to his retirement. His pastimes over the years included watching ‘Hockey Night in Canada’, bowling, playing cards, attending his son’s hockey games, and listening to fiddle music. He was a member of Bethel United Church, Nash Creek, NB.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Annie (Hamilton); three sons, Arthur (Patricia) of Hamilton, Ontario, Allen (Nancy) of Nash Creek, and Robert (Louise) of Belledune and two daughters, Karen Stewart (Malcolm) of Salisbury, NB, and Cindy Brown (Boyd) of Salisbury, NB; eleven grandchildren (Ashley, Alex , Blake, Ian , Jeremy, Danica, Jordan, Cameron, Alyssa, Abigail, Kaylee) and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Dax; one brother, Donald (Darlington, N.B.) and one sister, Ruby Searle (Napan, N.B.).
Predeceased by sisters Nancy, Peggy and Helen; brother, Gordon; and grandson, Lennon Harvey.
Harvey will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to all.
