BUCHANAN, Letitia Locke, 84, Lockeport, passed away in Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport, on Friday, January 30, 2015. Born in West Green Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Blanche (Hallett) BeLong. Letitia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed walking, sewing and was an avid quilter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Letitia was a devoted Christian and an active member of her church. She is survived by sons, Mervyn (Alice); Donald (Wanda); daughter, Patricia (Norman “Budgie”); brother, Charles (Marilyn); sisters, Eileen Williams and Ruth Scott; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Mervyn. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 3 at in Harbour Light Pentecostal Church, East Green Harbour with Pastor Rod Bezanson officiating. Burial in Oak Point Cemetery, Stephens Road. Memorial donations may be made to the Surf Lodge Nursing Home.
