Marjorie Isabelle Rector, 84, of Sydney and formerly of New Glasgow, passed away on Feb. 6, 2015, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility.
Born in Antigonish N.S., she was the daughter of the late Havelock and Althea (Wiggins) Reid.
She was a former member of the United Baptist Church, Sydney. In her earlier years Isabelle was employed with MT&T in New Glasgow and Charlottetown. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn (David) MacIvor of New Glasgow; two sons, Jeff (Sharon), North Sydney, and John ( Polly) of Howie Centre; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Andrew, Andrea, Gahan, Gavin, Autumn, Grace and Luke. Also by two brothers-in-law, George and Garth and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold, granddaughter Miranda and her sisters, Margaret, Kay, Mary, Martha and Helen.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. Rector. A private service at a later date will take place. The family will receive friends to celebrate Isabelle's life on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at 39 Parks Drive, Long Island, N.S. from 3-6 p.m.
Donations in Isabelle's memory may be made to the C.B. Feral and abandoned Cats Society.
