TRENTON – Mary Catherine “Kay” Fraser, age 101 of Trenton, formerly of Stellarton and Plymouth, passed away February 8, 2015 at the home of Cathy and Steven Cotter.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Edward A. and Ann (Brooks) Purvis.
Kay lived most of her life in Plymouth and was an adherent of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton.
During her working life she worked for Sunshine Laundry for 10 years.
Kay was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by special nephew Edward Purvis, Trenton; also several other nieces and nephews; grand-nieces Cathy (Steven) Cotter, Trenton; Diane Purvis, Trenton, with whom she formerly resided, also several other grand-nieces and nephews.
Kay was predeceased by her husband Roy D. Fraser, brothers Clifford Purvis and William Purvis.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Reppert and Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date.
