It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our brother Eric Francis Power, 65, on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at his home.
Born in North Sydney on June 9, 1949, Eric was the son of the late Edward and Jean (MacDonald) Power.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey and spending time with his family and friends.
Eric is survived by his two sisters, Roseanne (Bill Bennett), Big Bras d’Or, and Edith (Bill Bradley), North Sydney; sisters-in-law, Pat, Betty and Marie and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Eric was predeceased by his siblings, brothers Earl, Edward Jr., Thomas, Robert, James, George, Daniel, Terrance, Russell, Brian 'Pee Wee' and Edward in infancy and sisters, Joan Robinson, Elizabeth Hoben and Nina in infancy.
Visitation for Eric will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A prayer service will follow the visitation with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
