ELIAS, DR. JOSEPH
Dr. Joseph Paul "Joe" Elias of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at the QE II Victoria General Site on February 19, 2015 at the age of 73.
First born of nine children to the late Zidie and Armaline Paul Elias, he grew up in Minto, NB and graduated from UNB and Dalhousie University, Faculty of Dentistry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marielle Losier of Tracadie, NB. Wonderful father to Jana, amazing father-in-law to Pascal Roberge and doting "Pappy" to Clara and Benoit. Survived by siblings Marthy (Henry Belliveau), Ronnie (Doug MacPherson), Mark (Sandy, deceased), David (Rose, deceased), Alfred, Victor (Debbie), Alice (Dick Giggal) and Ruth, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was blessed with his special angel, niece Joanne.
Though there are many wonderful things to mention about his life, he would say his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was blessed with many loyal and devoted friends, many of whom were patients of his through 37 years of practice at 99 Main Street, Dartmouth. Joe's devotion and kindness to his patients was evident to all. Courageous and positive to the end, he will be greatly missed.
Visitation hours on Friday, February 27th from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, Maple Street, Dartmouth; officiating will be Father Jim Richards and Father Eric Bem, con-celebrant. Cremation to follow after mass. A reception to take place in the Parish Centre.
