Gordon "Gordie" Albert Elliott

Elliott, Gordon “Gordie” Albert, age 85 of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away on Thursday evening February 26, 2015, at Parkstone Enhanced Care in Halifax. Born in Montreal, Quebec, on February 13, 1930, he was the son of Ethel and Albert Elliott.
Gordie was a long serviing Firefighter and Captain with the City of Dartmouth Fire Department. After retirement at age 62, he and his wife Kaye travelled extensively in their motor home across North America and spent winters in Myrtle Beach and Florida. Gordie was an active member of and contributor to numerous community and social organizations in Dartmouth for many years. Most recently, he and his wife Kaye were active members of the Air Force Club in Truro. Known as “Mr. Fix It”, Gordie could build or fix just about anything and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Above all, family was the most important thing in his life.

Gordie is survived by daughters Linda (Wayne) Crossman, Belmont, and Barb (Scott) McKellar, Dartmouth; grandsons Adam (Kathryn) Crossman, Belnan, and Mark (Andrea) Crossman, Dartmouth; granddaughter Leanne (Alex) Crossman, Petawawa, Ontario; great-grandson Noah; sister Velma Elliott, Victoria, BC; brother Frank (Jackie) Elliott, Victoria, BC; special cousin Lydia Rochemont, Milton, Ontario.

He was predeceased by his wife Catherine “Kaye” in 2006; his parents Ethel and Albert Elliott; brothers Billy and Doug; sisters Rita and Muriel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 4th from 6-8pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 2pm on Thursday March 5th in the funeral home chapel, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Reception to follow. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
