Pius Alexander "Smokey" McCormack
Smokey, born in Point de Roche, P.E.I., on January 25, 1931, died peacefully at Blenheim Lodge in Vancouver, B.C., on February 23, 2015, at the age of 84.
Besides his parent, Monica (MacDonald) and Ruel McCormack, Smokey was also predeceased by his sisters - Caroline (January 27, 2015) and Betty MacGuigan (Jim, dec.), and brothers - Father Ivan, Charlie and Johnny.
He is survived by sisters, Gerry Dalling (Bob, dec.), Gen, Teresa Strain (Frank), Anne Corrigan, Peggy Sosnkowski (Tony, dec.), Mary Kawaja (Don), Joan McGinn (Brendon), and Rita McLaughlin (Gene) and brothers, Ben and Ted.
Smokey proudly served his country in the early 1950s, stationed mainly in Hannover, Germany.
Enormous and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Blenheim Lodge for providing years of excellent care to Smokey.
A celebration of Smokey's life will be held in P.E.I. at a later date.
