CARON, JEAN JACQUES
Jean Jacques Caron, 80, of ProTem Health Services, and formerly of Argyle St., Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Born in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late Napoleon and Anne Marie Caron. Jean grew up in Rivière Bleu, Quebec, later moving to New Brunswick, where he lived at Pre d’en Haut, St. Anselme, Upper Dorchester and Moncton. Jean held an NB Certificate in Mechanics from Moncton Technical School. He worked at Vale’s Drycleaners on King St., as a carpenter with Goguen Builders, as a mechanic for Frizells, for Canadian Tire in Moncton and as a bus driver, for 26 years, for Moncton Transit and Codiac Transit, retiring in December 1999. He was Financial Secretary for over 16 years for Local 1290 of the Amalgamated Transit Union.
Leaves to mourn his wife, Dorothy; brother, André (late Ella); sons, Roger and Paul of Cambridge, ON; daughters, Theresa Lavigne (Daniel), Montreal, PQ, Jacqueline, Calgary, AB, Gisele Dunfield, New Minas, NS, Francine Cummings (Jeff), Moncton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) with no visiting hours by personal request. A Service to Celebrate the life of Jean Jacques will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:30 am with Pastor Scott Ryder officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean Jacques may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or a memorial of the donor’s choice.
