GELDART, RONALD BROCK
1917 – 2015
Ronald B. Geldart of Riverview passed away at The Veterans Health Center on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Born in Synton he was the son of the late Walter and Eliza (Brown) Geldart.
Ron was a veteran of WWII and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Salisbury Branch 31. Following a 34 year career as a fireman and engineer with the CNR he retired in 1977. A true outdoorsman Ron was and loved to hunt and fish.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters; Jacqueline Colpitts (late Maurice), Ann Mitton (Richard) both of Salisbury and Pauline Kanner (Ken) of Moncton, sons; Floyd (Eleanor) of Centerville and Ross of Mollins Road, a sister Florence Mollins of Moncton, eight grandchildren; Brent Colpitts, Brenda Levesque, Nancy Antworth, Cynthia Geldart, Kathy Nutter, Joanne LaPlace, Craig Kanner and Leanne Gallup and nine great-grandchildren; Scott and Sandra Colpitts, Ashley Farnsworth, Brittany Antworth, Matthew Nutter, Logan, Rebecca and Rachel LaPlace and Alexander Gallup.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Mamie (Robb), his second wife, Elaine (Reid), brothers; Garfield and Douglas (Ted) and a sister, Thelma Beamish, half-sister, Leila Geldart, half-brothers; Alden, Lawrence, Allan and Riley.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, with the Royal Canadian Legion, Salisbury Branch Number 31 holding a memorial service at 6:45 from the funeral home. A service celebrating Ron’s life will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 13 at 11 AM, with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating, the interment at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
