Leo Gracie, 86, formerly of Railway Street, Glace Bay, passed away peacefully at Victoria Haven Nursing Home on March 7, 2015.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late P.R. 'Bobby' and Margaret Rose (Briand) Gracie.
Leo was a member of St. John’s Church. He was a bartender at the Big Town Tavern for many years and later worked for the Town of Glace Bay.
Leaves to mourn his six loving children, Leo Jr. (Brenda), Gary (Donna), Glace Bay, Lorne (Judy), Nfld., Shelly Lynn (Earl) MacKay, Dominion, Blair (Cathy), B.C., Margaret Rose (Everett) Snow, Black Brook; grandchildren, the loves of his life, Shauna, Shane, Ryan, Jessica, Michael, Shaylynn, Jesse, Matthew, Stephen, Jordan and Nicole, great-grandchildren, Alexis, Charleigh, Parker and Spencer; brothers, Fabian (Mabie), Billie and Danny; sisters, Alice Lewis, Liz Pemberton and Donna Timmons and many nieces and nephews.
Besides parents, Leo was predeceased by loving wife, Marjory 'Midge' (MacDougall) Graciel; brothers, Jim, Alfred, Charlie, a baby sister in infancy, Lizzie.
Upon request of Leo, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, a private family service will take place at a later date.
