It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lois (Rahey) Morrison, beloved mother, sister, aunt and great aunt on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in North Sydney in 1945, Lois was the daughter of the late Louis and Blanche (Evans) Rahey.
Lois worked for many years at Fowler’s Ladies Wear and later at Jay Set in the North Sydney Mall. Lois was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Lois loved socializing with her many friends, especially at her hair salon and Tim Hortons. A favourite hobby of hers was her baking and cooking, particularly her famous fatayers. Lois will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her son Robert O’Toole, Victoria, B.C., her sister Karen and brother Louis, Victoria, B.C., her niece Charlene (Andrew) Pederson, Millville and her nephew Christopher, Edmonton. She is also survived by her great nephews, Dane and Joseph and great niece Kathryn. Lois leaves behind her lifelong best friend Rosie Clark, and many cousins too numerous to mention, but one she affectionately called MayDay. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Lee (Fraser) MacPherson, Sydney Mines, Phemia Menard, North Sydney, brothers-in-law, Gerard (Colette) Morrison, Baddeck, Bill Gardiner, Baddeck, Don Burke, Boston.
Besides her parents, Lois was predeceased by her husband Jim Morrison, her brother David Rahey and sister-in-law Elaine Rahey, sisters-in-law, Theresa Burke, Miriam (Gerard) Morrison and Catherine Gardiner.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Kirkpatrick and the doctors and nurses of the ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
