Kevin Youden of MacDonald Lane, Sydney passed away peacefully after his battle with cancer on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Walter Gus and Ellen (Routledge) Youden.
Kevin worked hard all his life as a paver for Bridge Paving where he worked alongside the man he thought of as a father, Sal Magliaro.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and his summers at the bungalow.
Kevin is survived by his eight children, three with his first wife, Margie (Pentecost), Kevin, Derek (Allyson), Angie (Trevor), five with his second wife, the late Zelda (MacNeil), Lionel (Stephanie), Rachel (Shaun), Holly (Robert), Anson and Justin. He is also survived by his four brothers, Wally (Sandra), Harold (Darlene), David (Darlene) and Terry (May); his wonderful 14 grandchildren, who loved him dearly, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with a celebration of life to follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
