It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Albert Fedora on Friday, March 20, 2015, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney River, John was the son of the late John 'Smokey' Fedora, and the late Myrtle (Chipman) Fedora.
John is survived by his wife, Marguerite (Clark); daughter, Stacey (Joe), East Bay, his son, Andrew (Christine) and his precious grandsons, Braeden and Noah Fedora, Judique.
John is also survived by his aunt, Elsie Barrett, Glace Bay; sister, Delores (Clarey) Palmer, New Hampshire, USA; sister, Diane Fedora (Sonny), Sydney River, Sheila Fedora (Joe), Boisdale. John is survived by several nieces and nephews; his dear and loving friends, George and Cavell Wrigglesworth, Acton, Ont. and Gary LeBlanc, Irish Vale.
John was a valued member of the East Bay Volunteer Fire Dept for 35 years. In his healthier days John was an avid fisherman and hunter.
No visitation by John's request. A mass of celebration will take place Friday, March 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay, at 2:30 p.m. with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating. A reception to follow at the East Bay Fire Hall. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to palliative care or a charity of your choice.
A very special thank you to the wonderful and caring people from the VON cancer clinic, homecare, palliative care, Dr John Ritter, Dr. Ron McCormick. The care and compassion you gave John will never be forgotten.
Also a big thank you to Jill Murphy for providing music therapy which made every Tuesday the highlight of his week.
