The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Community Hospital, O'Leary on Thursday, March 26, 2015 of Sherla Amanda (Ellis) Gorrill of O’Leary, formerly of Glenwood, aged 76 years, dear wife of Keith Gorrill. Born on March 29, 1938, in O’Leary, daughter of the late Bill and Dolly (Culleton) Ellis. Loving mother to Vicky (Glen) Smith, Alberta, and Terry (Tracy), Kensington and Tammy Gorrill, Glenwood. Beloved grandmother to Shelby, Jenna, Joshua, Dexter and Reece; great-grandmother to Mekya. Sherla is also survived by brother Alvin (Dorothy) Ellis, Roslin, Ont.; sister Debbie (Charles) Gorrill, Dunblane; brothers and sisters-in-law Pam Ellis, Bird’s Grove, Ont.; Jean (Rev. Dewis) Rector, Cornwall; Harriet (Claire) MacNeill, Knutsford; Richard (Mae) Gorrill, Unionvale; Wayne (Amanda), Glenwood, and special friend Marg. Sherla was predeceased by her parents and brother Lorne Ellis. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment in Bethel United Church Cemetery in the spring. In memory of Sherla, memorials to Gideon Bibles or to O’Leary Community Health Foundation would be appreciated.
