It is with sadness that we announce the death of our father, brother, grandfather, friend and uncle, (Donald) Gordon MacLeod March 30, 2015 in Bedford, N.S.
Born in Sydney, Gordon was the son of the Reverend M.D. and Mary (MacDonald) MacLeod. Gordon lived in Sydney for most of his life moving to the Halifax area in recent years to be closer to family. He worked many years for Canada Packers before retiring in 1986. After retirement he found another passion – travel. During this time he enjoyed many trips to locations near and far experiencing lots of adventures and giving him many new stories to share with his friends and family.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents and ex-wife Helena.
Gordon is survived by his daughters, Moire, Airmont, N.Y.; Ellen, Toronto, Ont.; Flora (Stephen Dickson), Bedford, N.S.; brother, Alan, Halifax, N.S.; sister, Mary Herion, Chapel Hill, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also a very proud and devoted grandfather and is survived by the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Ian, Rose, Neil Stiskin and Callum Dickson.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will follow at a later date in Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax.
