Stephen
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, at his home in Freshwater on April 6, 2015, in his 93rd year. Stephen was a well respected member of the community. Following his 25 year career in Food Services at the Argentia Naval Facility, Stephen opened Mullaley's Chicken Bar, a place that holds many fond memories for the people in the Placentia Area and beyond. Pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Eliza (Power) Mullaley and precious daughter Sharon Canning. Leaving to mourn: his devoted wife of 64 years, Regina; his children Bernadette (Wayne Burke), Fintan (Yvonne), Brendan (Leah), Elizabeth (Raymond Organ), Terry, Geraldine (Ernie Kelly), Marie (Paul Popelar), Mike (Darlene), Donna (Jeff Davis), Joe, Anne and son-in-law Adrian Canning; as well as 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn his sister Mary Connors (Patrick, pre-deceased); his sisters-in-law Marie Chafe (Fred) and Carmel Doody (Leo, pre-deceased); and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation on Wednesday and Thursday, April 8 and 9, from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11am. Interment at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. Flowers gratefully accepted. Dad was a man of great faith who said the Rosary everyday, never swore, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Always loved and never forgotten.
