Francis "Frank" Corvec

CORVEC, FRANCIS "FRANK" MURRAY
Francis "Frank" Murray Corvec of Bocabec, N.B. passed away peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge Nursing Home in St. Andrews, N.B. on April 8, 2015. Born in Saint John, N.B. on April 26, 1923, he is the son of the late Frank Corvec Senior and Eileen (McNally) Gamson.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Corvec (Steen) of Bocabec; two brothers: Raymond Gamson and Edmond Gamson; and a sister: Margaret (Gamson) Doyle.
He is survived by a brother: Robert "Bob" Gamson; sister: Mary Lou Corvec; sister-in-law: Inez Gamson; and by several nieces and nephews.
Frank served in the Canadian Armed Forces, having served with the RCEME as a Mechanic, attached to the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Sussex, N.B. After his service with the military he was involved in businesses in Saint John, a restaurant on Main Street, the Crown Hotel, Dolan Road Irving and the Cherry Tree Camp Grounds in Lepreau, N.B. Frank also worked for the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at Point Lepreau Power Station, from where he retired. He liked camping with his wife and associating with friends. He will be sadly missed.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. Resting at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will take place at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Calvin Hood officiating. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery at a later date.
In Frank's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
