Helen May Harris, late of Prince Albert, SK passed away on April 11, 2015 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 94 years. Helen was born on May 27, 1920 in Brightsand, SK. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corp in June 1944 and served with them until November 1945. On October 2, 1946 she married Chlorus Harris and they remained married for 59 years. Helen was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church and served in many capacities. Her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren were a joy to her and she will be lovingly remembered by her family for her generosity and her great home cooked meals and baking. Helen is survived by her son Edward (Betty Ann) of Holbein, SK and his children: George (Caroline) and Greg (Morica) and their children: Shae-Lynn, Bryce, and Gracie of Rural Prince Albert, SK; her daughter Linda (Tony) Basaraba of Candle Lake, SK and her children: Kara (David) Cantin and their children: Cohen, Finn and Beckett of Prince Albert, SK; Amy (Bill) Cameron and their children: Liam, Grace, Eve and William of Saskatoon, SK; and Chad (Laura) Basaraba of Prince Albert, SK; her sisters: Clara Davidson of North Battleford, SK, Joyce Smith of Penticton, BC, and La Reine Madden & brother-in-law Raymond Madden of Vernon BC; her sisters-in-law: Sophie Brown of St. Walburg, SK, Jackie Gervais of North Battleford, SK and Marlene Harris of Prince Albert, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband Chlorus in 2005, her sisters: Dorothy Davidson of St. Warburg, SK and Florence Hanson of Vancouver, BC; and her brothers Gerald Gervais of Brightsand, SK and Larry Gervais of North Battleford, SK. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 – 2:00 pm, St. Alban’s Cathedral, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, Prince Albert, SK with The Very Rev'd Kenneth Davis officiating.
