Lewis-Ozerkevich, Jean Evelyn - 87, passed away on April 14, 2015 at home in Nanaimo, BC. Born, August 31, 1927 in Plymouth, MA, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Pearl (Priest) Thibodeau and is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jean spent many years working in the Weymouth area for Steadman's and Amirault's Riteway before moving to Ontario and then to the west coast, where she spent her retirement years. Jean was fearless, had a great sense of humour and a wonderful, giving spirit. She met many challenges along the way, including learning to ski in her 50's. Being an avid golfer well into her 60's and 70's, she was on the fairways every day. She was even brave enough to take a solo return trip across Canada from B.C. to Nova Scotia in her late 60's. Jean is survived by her son, Bernard Lewis (Joy), Nanaimo BC, stepson Danny Ozerkevich (Margaret), Thunder Bay ON, daughters-in-law Sandy Lewis (Allen), Oshawa ON and Joy Lewis (Jerry), Sarnia ON, eleven grandchildren, Larry Lewis, Victoria BC, Jody Turner, Penticton BC, Allan Lewis, Oshawa ON, Jerry Lewis, Oshawa ON, Misty Lewis, Oshawa ON, Bill Lewis, Sarnia ON, Jean Lewis, Sarnia ON, and Travis, Troy, Kory, Kolby and Kayeigh Ozerkevich, all of Thunder Bay ON plus 1 great-grandchild, Andrew along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marion (Kinney), Vivian (Cohoon-Lake) and Kathleen in infancy along with sons, Allen Lewis (Sandy) and Jerry Lewis (Joy) plus foster brother Vernon Thibodeau, her first husband, Fred Lewis and second husband Ed Ozerkevich. There will be a graveside burial planned for a later date at the Riverside Baptist Cemetery in Weymouth North.
