It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Paulette Nicholson on April 27, 2015 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her family.
Born Nov. 19, 1951, she was the eldest child of Doris Hughes (Monaghan) and the late John Nicholson.
Paulette enjoyed having her nails done, listening to music and giving much loved hugs to those she cared about. Most recently, she enjoyed spending time with her Resi Care friends Lisa, Wendy, and Jeanie.
Besides her mother, Paulette is survived by her sisters, Linda (Don) Thompson, Peggy (Bob) Clarke, Mary (Marty) MacNeil, Kathy (Bob) Veith; brothers, Donald, Patty (Theresa), John (Ellie), Barry (Tina), Walter (Delilah), Joey (Annette) and several nieces, and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Paulette’s second family, Resi Care staff of MacAulay’s Lane. Each of you dedicated yourselves to ensuring that Paulette’s time with you was filled with kindness, patience and love. The last three years have been the best years of Paulette’s life. Also thank you to the Regional’s ICU and 4C staff and Dr. McLaughlan. Each of you went above and beyond for Paulette.
Cremation has taken place, a graveside service will be held at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Arrangements are under the direction of S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home.
