Passed peacefully away at his residence in Bay Roberts on Monday, May 4, 2015, Eric Norman Mercer of Bay Roberts, aged 78 years. Eric was a devoted life long member of the Church Lads' Brigade and a valued member of the 50 Plus Club, Bay Roberts. Predeceased by parents Frank and Geraldine Mercer (nee Piercey), wife Loretta (Peddle), sisters Geraldine Baker and Carol Roberta who died in infancy, brother-in-law Robert Dyckson. Leaving to mourn son David (Carol Ann) Mercer, daughter Joanne (Joseph) Mayer, sisters: Emily Dyckson, Sylvia (Cyril) Thornhill, Lillian (Harry) Crawford; brothers: Austin (Rubyann) Mercer, Howard (Carol) Mercer; brother-in-law Chesley Baker, sisters-in-law: Joan (Danny) Stone, Jeanette (Warwick) Taylor, Hilda (Ed) Stone, Barbara (Carl) Chubbs. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 6: 3-5 PM : 7-9 PM, Thursday, May 7: 2-4 PM : 7-9 PM and Friday, May 8: 10-12 Noon. Funeral service will take place from St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Bay Roberts on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2 PM with interment to follow at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Bay Roberts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric's memory to the C.L.B. Regimental Band or St. Matthew's Anglican Church Restoration Fund.
