Norman Hay

HAY, NORMAN L.
March 31, 1935 – April 29, 2015
Norman L. Hay of Burton, NB, passed away on April 29, 2015 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Norman was born in Hamilton, ON on March 31, 1935, to the late Norman and Elizabeth (Rafferty) Hay, and married to the late L. Doreen Hay (MacDonald).
Norman is survived by his two daughters, Christina Hay of Lincoln, NB and GerriAnna Hay of Kingston, ON; brother, Gordon Hay of Pontypool, ON; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason), Raisa and one step great granddaughter Gabrielle. Norman will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Norman was predeceased by his sisters, Georgina, Margaret and one sister at her birth. Norman is also predeceased by many in-laws out west.
Norman served in the navy for 25 years as a Bandsmen. After retiring from the navy he spent 18 years as a commissionaire. Norman traveled the world and served in many areas including NS, NB, and ON. He never had less than two dogs and was an avid sportsman who loved, golf, baseball, football, curling, and darts.
A memorial service will be held at the Pine Grove United Church on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Lori Beth Sheffield-Bowles officiating. Interment is to following in the adjoining cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family at the Burton Lions Club (328 Route 102, Burton, NB) for a reception starting at 4:30 pm.
