It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert ‘Bob’ Ramey, 85 of Sydney on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Evelyn Ramey. The family relocated to Sydney, where Bob remained through his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy (Sylvester), Sydney; daughter, Rose Marie (Pierre) deVillers, Dartmouth; stepson, Robyn (Christie) Foret, Calgary and grandchildren, Andree, Julia, Bethany, Morgan, Taylor, Avery; brother, Rayburn (Frances) Ramey; sisters, Phyllis Williams, Josephine White and sister-in-law, Martha Ramey, all of Sydney.
Bobby was predeceased by his brother, Victor.
Bob worked for 39 years building door and window frames at the Co-op Building Supplies. He had many interests including hunting, fishing, golf and pool. For many years he was an avid bowler in many leagues and tournaments. He loved to spend time in his garden. He spent many hours lovingly tending to his rose bushes and his lawn was without a weed.
Visitation for Mr. Ramey will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. Angus MacLeod officiating. Interment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society.
