NEGUS, BARBARA
Barbara Joan Negus, wife of the late Russell Negus, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she is a daughter of the late Gordon and Edna (Given) Campbell.
Barb was a spirited woman who spoke her mind. She loved to play bingo and cards, but hated to lose at either one. Barb loved spending time with her family. She and her sister Shirley got together 2 or 3 times a week for crafting and she absolutely adored visiting with and having supper with, her brother Gordie. She loved each and every one of her grandchildren dearly and her family will fondly remember all of the fun adventures they’ve had. Barbara will be forever loved and missed.
Barb is survived by her sons Russell Jr. (“Lee”) and Larry (Brenda); daughters Joan Challoner (Ray), Debbie Negus, Linda Cleary (Bobby) and Barbie Taylor; brother Gordie Campbell (June); sisters Shirley McIvor (Jack) and Gail Melanson; 14 beautiful grandchildren; 21 precious great-grandchildren; several extended family members and friends and her special four-legged partner in crime, Angel.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 57 years, Russell, Barbara was predeceased by her brothers Charlie and Mike Campbell and Eddie Thompson; sisters Evelyn “Buddy” Melanson and Glady Guidry; grandson Lawrence in infancy and her son-in-law Claude McShane.
Arrangements under the professional care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where the family will receive visitors Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10 am from the chapel with interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will take place at the funeral home.
