Derek Mitchell Wile, age 58, of Hantsport/Falmouth, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015, at his home in Hantsport. Born on July 13, 1956, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scoti, he was the son of Joseph “Jim” Christian and Ruth Louise (Lyon) Wile. Surviving besides his parents, Jim and Ruth; his sons, Nicholas, Jeffrey and Brandon; long-time companion, Marilyn Corkum; brother, Brian (Janet) and their children, Barrett and Lillie, Falmouth; brother, Randy (Martina) and their children, Amanda, Matthew and Ethan, Courtice, Ont.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Aubrey & Nellie (Leopold) Wile; Maternal grandparents, Medford & Myrtle (Stoddard) Lyon. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 15, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, (902-798-2232), P.O. Box 2218, 194 King Street, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. Interment will be held at a later date, in the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth.
