ADAMS, CAROL
Age 73, Dartmouth, NS. The family of Carol Adams regrets to announce her unexpected passing at the The Halifax Infirmary on Sunday, May 17, 2015.
Carol was born on December 13, 1941 to the late Edward and Helen Randon (nee Montford). Carol grew up in Saint John surrounded by her large extended family. She graduated from Mount Carmel Business School and began her lifelong career working in the banking and accounting fields. After the birth of her two sons, Carol moved to Dartmouth where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Carol was ahead of her time. As a young woman, she learned to successfully balance her career and the raising of her two sons by herself until she met and married Ross Adams, her surviving husband of 39 years. Carol loved to travel especially spontaneous road trips and times spent with family and friends. In 2001, Carol retired from Deloitte and enjoyed every minute of retirement, particularly the additional time she spent with her grandchildren, which gave her the ability to instill her love of travel to them. Carol was a huge sports fan with a love for hockey and anything to do with the Toronto Blue Jays. She was an avid reader and loved the winters she spent in Florida.
Besides her husband, Carol is survived by her sons James (Kathleen) Hoyt and Jeff (Gillian) Hoyt; stepchildren Todd, Ron and Heather Adams; grandchildren Kaitlin, Jordan and Stephanie; great-granddaughter Penelope and soon to be born great-granddaughter Maeve. She is also survived by her brother John (Margaret) Randon and sisters Dodie (John) Sekulich and Linda (Bobby) Marr, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a large extended group of cousins.
Visitation will be held in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth on Thursday, May 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. The funeral service will be held in St. John XXIII 35 Colby Drive on Friday, May 22nd at noon.
Family flowers only by request of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
