It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne Campbell of New Glasgow on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Aberdeen Hospital.
Joanne was born in New Waterford on March 19, 1961. She was a longtime resident of Beaton Avenue. Joanne was the daughter of the late William ‘Willie’ and Stella (MacSween) White of New Waterford.
Joanne was a kind and compassionate person who loved her family and friends dearly. She had a special affinity for animals especially her dog, Cuddles. Joanne was known for her humour and enjoyed telling a good story especially if it involved her family.
Joanne was a skilled seamstress and was known for doing alterations and making formal gowns for numerous special events. She also enjoyed making various crafts.
She will be forever missed by her loving husband, Brian Campbell; sons, Mitchell and Terry (Stacey), New Glasgow; brothers, Jimmy (Donna), Reserve Mines, Bill, New Victoria, Gary (Latisse), Sydney; sisters, Doreen (Allister) Mac Kenzie, New Waterford, Anita (Michelle), Sydney and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her brother, Terry and a nephew, Ryan White.
The family is very grateful to the doctors, nurses and support staff for the compassion and excellent care extended to Joanne during her stay at the Aberdeen Hospital.
In keeping with Joanne's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation from 12 (noontime) on Saturday until the time of service at 1 p.m., both in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Fr. Ray Huntley officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a reception at St. Leonard’s Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
