Helen Headrick
HEADRICK, HELEN MAUD
June 15, 1921 – May 17, 2015
It is with profound sadness that we advise of the passing of Helen Headrick. Helen was born in Kingussie, Scotland; the first daughter of Ben and Helen Wade. She grew up in a loving family with siblings: Ian, Tommy, Aileen and Marjorie. The family remained close despite her marrying a Canadian soldier and moving to Canada. In 1946, Helen arrived in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She made friends easily and spent many happy years in PA. In her final days, many called offering their support and sharing reminiscences. We would like to say a special thank you to Hillary and Dave Phillips, Florence and Lloyd Eytcheson, Holly and Allen Young, and Robert and Karen Burns. Helen treasured your friendships more than she could ever express. During her loving life, Helen was blessed with many lifelong friendships in Prince Albert, many of which she cherished greatly to the end of her days. Helen was a wonderful mother to Marlene and son-in-law Cliff; an affectionate grandmother to Heather and husband Brent, Darrell and wife Veronica; and doting great-grandmother to Delaney, Declan and Dominic. She taught us many lessons. Perhaps the most important were the value of courage, dignity and perseverance. We are blessed to have lasting memories of her mischievous smile, her big blue eyes, and her indomitable spirit. With her once strong hands; she helped us up. With our once weak arms; we helped her lay down.
