It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Billy McKinnon, age 44, on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Bill and Sabina (Ley) McKinnon.
Billy loved the sunshine as well as a good drink of Pepsi and some chocolate.
Billy is survived by his stepmother, Frances (Fougere) McKinnon; three sisters, Noelle (Blair) Pyke, Porter’s Lake, Rose McKinnon (Clarke), Glace Bay, Tammy McKinnon (Jeff), Truro; aunts, uncles and cousins.
A special thank you to Billy’s extended family who took care of him with love and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith St., New Waterford followed by interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. All are invited to join the family for a reception in Lingan Hall.
