1925-2015
Cécile Leger passed away peacefully at the CHUMGD in Moncton May 24, 2015. She was born March 11, 1925 in Victoriaville, Qc having lived in Montmagny until 1947, afterwards moving to Memramcook, NB. She was married to Camille Leger in 1943. She was the daughter of late Francis Favreau and late Odile Bouchard.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress, quiltmaker, enjoyed cooking, knitting, crafts, travel and shopping.
She was a very active member and lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary br. # 89 in Memramcook, having been President, secretary and treasurer for many years. Since 2013 she was a member of the L.A. branch #6 in Moncton. She was a member of la paroisse St. Anselme.
She was predeceased by her husband Camille (2012), her sister Flore, brothers Oscar and Donat Favreau and a grandson Gabriel Leger (2005).
She leaves daughters Hélène (Louis) LeBlanc, Huguette (Clarence) Vautour, Dieppe, Claire (Ronald) LeBlanc, Richard (Denise) Leger, Memramcook and Gilles (Lori Terris) Leger Moncton and a step-sister Jeanne d’Arc Caron, Montmagny, Qc. Grandchildren: Daniel, Yves, Serge, Denis, Jason, Sylvie, Gilbert and Jacynte. Great-grandchildren: Yannick, Mikaela, Melania, Nicholas, Mélissa, Samuel, Jérémie and Caleb. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Dupuis Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas de Memramcook church on Wednesday, May 27 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
In memory of Cécile, donation can be made to l’Arbre de l’Espoir or charity of your choice.
