It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, Gladys Margaret MacNevin, on May 25, 2015.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Donald John and Katie Florence (Matheson) MacLean and the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Gladys was an RN for many years, working in both the hospitals and as a health nurse with DEVCO. She was a member of Knox United Church and the Glace Bay Hospital Alumni.
Surviving are daughters Dawn Stegen and Anne MacNevin, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Besides parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Claude Alden MacNevin; sister Portia Willison and brothers Donald MacLean, Allister MacLean, Ranold MacLean.
In following Gladys’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place on Friday May 29, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating, with interment to take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
