We wish to announce the sudden passing of Orison Milford Duffy on May 27, 2015 peacefully at home.
Born in Glace Bay on January 20, 1936 he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Urquhart) and Ford Duffy.
A Professional Engineer, he graduated from the Technical University of Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Engineering and later obtained his Bachelor of Education from St. FX. Orison was employed with Seaboard Power Plant; Nova Scotia Power; and he spent most of his career as an instructor in the Electrical Technology Program at NSEIT/CBU retiring in 1994.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Webetta (MacKinnon); his daughters, Heather (Michael) Campbell, Sydney, and Larisa (David Dow), Saint John, NB; one brother, Sheldon (Elsie), Sydney and their children Sheldon (Beth), Fort McMurray and Tanya, Sydney; many extended family members; his grandchildren, Breagh-Ann & Emily Campbell, Ian, Liam Ford, Brandon and Nathaniel Dow who were his pride and joy; and finally his little four legged friend Casey, who was always there with him.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters in infancy and his son, Trevor in 2012.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at United Heritage Church, 500 Charlotte St., Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charity of one’s choice.
