SYMONDS, Kathryn Evangeline, 54, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the QE II Health Sciences Center VG, Halifax. Born December 18, 1960, she was a daughter of Roy and Beverly (Nickerson) Leahy. Kathy loved her boys and loved to look after her family. She enjoyed the flowers that she planted as well as feeding birds. She was an avid golf and car racing watcher. Her favourite race car driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr. She is survived by her mother, Beverly Leahy; sons, Tyler Symonds, Travis (Jerica) Symonds; husband, Richard Symonds; brother, Randy Leahy; sister, Brenda (Joe) Goodick; grandchild, Brady; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her father, Roy Leahy, she was predeceased by her brother, Gary Leahy. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Interment in the Newellton Cemetery, Newellton. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
