Gail Lynn Turnbull
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a special lady, who loved her family dearly and is gone to be with her beloved son, Jamie. Gail’s love for her family radiated from her especially when she spoke of her great-grandson, Kyler.
Her friends and neighbors sampled her beautiful baking on many occasions. She was a true Christian and always had God and family foremost in her life. The highlight of her day, every day, was from 6-8 p.m. when she spoke to her daughter, Sonya, who lives on the west coast.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Neil; daughter ,Sonya (Ted); sons, Neil, John Thomas and Carl (Eliza); grandchildren, Jamie, Samantha, Christopher Malcolm and Angie (Spencer and Gavin); special grandson Scott (Amy) his children, (Aiden and Madison); she had a special, deep love for her great-grandson, Kyler.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Josephine (Barrett) Dunn; sisters, Babe (Doug), Rube (Frank), Vivian (Ernie), Barbara (Tom), Faye (Charlie), Wendy (Dave), Lorrie (Ray), Frances (Chuck); brothers, Doug, Derrick Wayne and Carl. She was always so proud of her sisters-in-law, who always rallied in time of need. She called them the caring six: Cindy, Coleen, Margie, Myrtle, Grace, Thelma and the two young lady’s she treated as daughters, Corrie and Mary Beth who were always there for her.
There is no visitation at Gail’s request. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 11th, at St Anne’s Church, Glace Bay. The Rev. Leo Boone will be officiating. There will be a private family interment in the parish cemetery.
