BURT, Garry James, 62, Lower Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Thursday, May 28, 2015. Born in Newfoundland he was a son of James and Hilda (Randell) Burt. Garry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the Canadian Military for 25 years. Upon his retirement he took great pleasure in dabbling in genealogy, liked playing trivia and enjoyed working on his computer. He was an avid volunteer in his community. Garry was very proud of his family and relished spending quality time with them. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Margie Snow; daughters, Kelly (Joel); Karen (Chris); sister, Judy Pearcey; grandchildren, Lochlyn, Kinsley and Mason, several nieces and nephews as well as his mother-in-law, Irma Snow. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 2p.m. in the Lower Ohio Union Church with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. Interment in Lower Ohio Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lower Ohio Union Church or Lower Ohio Cemetery Fund.
