Peacefully at his home in Orangeville on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the age of 53. Beloved son of Golda (Goldie) Matthews (deceased) and John R. Matthews (Black Duck NL). Cherished brother of Yvonne Park (Boyd) of Corner Brook, NL, Terry Matthews (Norma) of McIvers, NL, Harry Matthews (Cindy) of Orangeville, ON, John Matthews (Violet Driscoll) of Brampton, ON, Patti Lovell (Cory) of Brampton, ON. Adored by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A very funny guy, so gentle and loving. He loved watching the WWF and Toronto Blue Jays. Always devoted to his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. He has gone to be with his loving mother. They touched the hearts of many and will be so very missed. Visitation will be held at Dods and McNair Funeral Home & Chapel, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 4-5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday June 13, 2015 at 5 p.m. Reception to follow service. Graveside Service for family and friends will be held at Mount Patricia Cemetery, Corner Brook, NL in April 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McIvers Recreation Committee for the purchase of a Memorial Bench at the Ball Park in Todd and Goldie's name.
