Mildred Skauge
Mildred (Millie) Skauge, age 88 years, died peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre in Eastend, Saskatchewan with family by her side.
Millie was born June 10, 1926 at her family farm just north of Robsart, Saskatchewan. She grew up in Robsart along with her two brothers Lloyd and Irvin. Millie met and married her husband Oscar Skauge and raised four children there. In 1973, they moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan. For the last four years she was a resident of the Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre, where she received excellent care. Millie was a talented and loving woman. She was often greeting family and friends with warm cinnamon buns and sharing her love through handmade gifts (specializing in hardangar, knitting and crocheting). Millie took pride in her flower garden and enjoyed having visitors to share it with. She could often be found tapping her toes to old time music and when life got boring you could find her snuggled up in her chair with a crossword.
Millie is survived by her daughters Marlene Davison, Sharon Currie (Dwight) and her son Darryl (Glenda), her brother Irvin Brunas (Lois), sister-in-law Sharon Brunas, her eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Lauritz and Borghild Brunas, her husband Oscar, her son Scott, her granddaughter Carla Davison, her brother Lloyd and her son-in-law Bob Davison.
Funeral Services were held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Eastend United Church in Eastend with Pastor David Manley officiating.
