Doris Rodgers
Doris Margaret Rodgers, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 9, 2015, at her daughter Norma’s home in Lions Bay, BC. Doris was born August 14, 1919 in New Glasgow, NS to Harry and Jessie Harris.
Doris moved to BC with her husband in 1954 but never forgot her ties to New Glasgow. She kept in close touch with her relatives and many friends.
She is survived by daughters Norma (partner Douglas Miller) and Diane Rodgers and son Bill Rodgers (wife Jan Carroll), all of BC . She is also survived by her niece and nephew in Halifax, Penny Bell-Tovey (husband Jerome) and David Bell (wife Wendy).
She joins her beloved sister Norma Marion Bell (nee Harris); first love from New Glasgow who was killed during WW 2, Walter F. Winning; and husband of forty six years, Donald Roy Rodgers; all of whom predeceased her.
Doris was such a kind, loving and generous person and mother that this world feels a sadder place without her.
