The death of Wilfred Cannon, aged 85, of Mt. Mellick, P.E.I., occurred suddenly at University Hospital in London, Ontario on June 15, 2015. He was on a lifetime move to Sarnia, Ontario.
Wilf leaves to mourn his much loved wife, Margaret (Roche) Cannon, as well as his three precious sons, Joe of Sarnia, Kevin (Pat Drimmie) of Brights Grove, and Larry (Tina) of Dayspring, N.S., and his dearly loved daughter Norma Cannon-King (Steve King) of Point Edward. He was predeceased by his son, Mark Louis Cannon, in 2000. Grampy leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Neil Cannon, Lesley Cannon (Pat Palombo), Maureen Cannon (Dave Sioson), Spencer, Nolan and Sage Cannon, Dorian, Marcel and Jonah Cannon, and Adam, Jonathan and Rebecca King. He was also predeceased by his brothers, William, Harry, Daniel and Leo Cannon as well his sister, Mary Doyle.
His children wish to thank all the family that cared for both Wilfred and Margaret the last several months in Prince Edward Island with special acknowledgement going to Leonard and Karen Roche, Irene Doyle, Uncle Leo’s children Alfred, Lois, Anthony and Paulette as well as everyone else who did small jobs for them, brought them food or kept them company.
His funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Lecaron Avenue in Sarnia on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. The family will receive family and friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church, as well as at a reception to follow mass.
