It is with great sadness that the family of Delores Hickey, regret to announce her passing on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born on Oct. 12, 1946 in New Waterford, Delores was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Gardiner) Henry.
Delores was a kind and loving person who welcomed everyone to her home. She enjoyed entertaining, fishing, camping and gardening. She took great joy in her grandchildren and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Shelly Knight, Shauna (Jean-Pierre) Goudreau and son Jamie (Jane) Hickey. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Randhall, Paige, Ethan and Brendan. She is also survived by her siblings, Rose (Buddy) Kendig, George (Nancy) Henry, Jimmy (Leona) Henry, Debbie Duggan and Arlene Woodford.
She was predeceased by her loving soulmate, Jim Hickey; brothers, Eddy and Charlie and sisters, Trina and Rhodina.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 1 pm at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
