It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Edna Marie Boyle which occurred on June 19, 2015 at the Loch Lomond Villa.
Born May 16, 1919 in Rusagonis, Edna was the daughter of the late John (Jack) Gilmore and Mildred Louise (Taylor) Noble. Edna was a loving wife to the late Gerald Boyle and a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister to a large extended family. Edna was an active and long-time member of Lancaster Baptist Church and the Scouts movement of Canada. She was a dedicated homemaker and also enjoyed a productive career at Sears in Saint John as a manager in the clothing department. Edna is survived by her daughter Mildred “Millie” (Joe) Mercuri, daughter-in-law Sharon (Lowell) Boyle, grandchildren Andrew (Dawn) Mercuri, Rob (Coralie) Boyle, and Michael (Jennifer) Boyle; great-grandchildren Kristen, John (Danielle) and James, Thomas and Madelyn (Rob), and Kathryn, Rachael, and Logan (Mike) and great-great-grandchild Liam (John) as well as a large and close extended family. Edna was predeceased by her parents Jack and Mildred, her husband Gerald Boyle (2009), her son Lowell Boyle (2007), her sister Marion (Keith) Louise (Mersereau) Cora Phyllis (George) (Dean), her brother Gilmore (Myrna) Taylor Noble, and her son-in-law Joe Mercuri (2013).
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Monday June 22, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place from Castle Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in Edna’s memory can be made to Lancaster Baptist Church, the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, or the charity of one’s choice. www.castlefh.com
