Mary Christine (MacInnis) Shaw passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Roseburn, N.S. on Feb. 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Dan Norman and Sadie MacInnis.
Mary was a member of the Greenwood United Church. Mary met her lifelong partner Alex and settled in Baddeck where they brought up their five children. Mary worked at the Silver Dart Lodge for 22 years. In her later years they enjoyed camping around the Atlantic provinces.
Mary was well-known for her homemade wool socks.
Mary is survived by four sons, Dan Neil (Kaye), Rhyburn (Debbie), Kenneth (Gwynn), James (Charlene); nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Alex, daughter Catherine, sister Jenny, brother Kenny.
Visitation is on Wednesday, June 24 from 4-8 p.m. at MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck, N.S. The funeral will be held at Greenwood United Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25 with Rev. Alison Etter officiating. Burial will take place July 29 at St. Andrews United Church Cemetery in Big Baddeck.
