Passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Dr. W.H. Newhook Community Health Centre on Monday, June 22nd, Leah Hillier of Blaketown, formerly of Spread Eagle, aged 84 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond; son, Reginald; parents, Frederick and Rhoda Smith; parents-in-law, Richard and Sarah Hillier; grandson, Samuel Newhook; great-grandson, Nathaniel Thorne; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and Harry Dawe; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Agnes Hillier; brother, John Smith; sister, Olive (Ambrose) Piercey; sister-in-law, Phyllis White. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life with thanksgiving are children, Hilda (Calvin), Ron (Jean), Harvey (Maxine), Clyde (Bonnie), Linda (Dave), Rose (Howard), Andy (Sherry), Fred (Gloria), Donna, Allison (Bob); grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Stephen, Jennifer, Leann, Charlotte, April, Gregory, Stephanie, Robert, Frederick, Jeffrey, Amanda and ten great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by brother, Fred White; sister-in-law, Jean Smith as well as a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation on Tuesday, June 23rd and Wednesday, June 24th from 2-9 pm and on Thursday, June 25th from 10 am - 12 noon. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25th at 2 pm from St. Augustine's Anglican Church, New Harbour. Interment to follow at Spread Eagle Anglican Cemetery.
